A group of young Bangladeshi intellectuals and professionals who are committed to bringing about a lasting change in Bangladesh toward the emancipation of people of all races, groups, ideologies, and religions. We strongly believe that lack of honesty and integrity has crippled socio-political institutions resulting in a justice-less society in Bangladesh. We believe that truth and justice are instrumental for a democratic dispensation, and political institutions are the driving force in society. We, therefore, believe that only a culture of “honest politics” based on truth and justice can lead the people of Bangladesh, as elsewhere in the world, to their desired and lasting emancipation. Initial proposal for Constitutional Reform of the Bangladesh Government by Citizen Initiative

The most common discussion in the political arena of Bangladesh is: 1) The centrality of state power is the key problem of Bangladesh. And because of this, a second problem arises, which is: 2) The winner-takes-all culture in Bangladesh.

There is a lot of writing about this winner-takes-all culture, even in academia. Basically, this winner-takes-all culture creates a dictatorship and fascist culture. Therefore, to reform the state and guide future Bangladesh into sustainable democratic practice, there is no alternative to eliminating the centrality of state power. We need to establish a state structure where the power and authority of the state are distributed across multiple places. Therefore, we have a few broad proposals.
